Terms of Service
These are the rules for using AetherForge at aetherforge.art. By playing, creating an account, buying gems or advertising, you agree to them. They are short on purpose.
1. The game
AetherForge lets you turn a photo into a fantasy trading card and duel with it. Cards, gems, decks and everything else in the game are virtual items with no cash value. They exist only inside the game and cannot be redeemed for money. We may change, rebalance, add or remove game features at any time.
2. Your account
- You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, get a parent's permission before spending money.
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; what happens on your account is your responsibility.
- Give us a real email address. It is how we confirm the account and how we reach you if something goes wrong with a purchase.
- Without an account, your cards live only in your browser and can be lost. We warn you about this in the game and we mean it.
3. What you may not do
- Upload or generate sexual, hateful, harassing or otherwise abusive content. There is an automated filter, a report button, and a person who reads the reports. Cards that break this rule are removed and accounts that persist are suspended.
- Upload photos of people who have not agreed to it, or photos of children.
- Use scripts, bots or multiple accounts to farm gems, referrals or ad rewards.
- Cheat in duels, tamper with the game client, or interfere with the service.
- Impersonate other people or organisations.
4. Your content
You own the photos you upload and the cards you forge. By using the game you give us permission to store them, display them to other players where the game does that (duels, the Market, Community, shared cards), and use them to run and improve the service. If you share a card, its image and name become public. You can ask us to take a shared card down at any time.
5. Gems, purchases and the Market
- Gems can be earned in the game or bought. Bought gems are delivered to your account once payment clears.
- Trades and auctions between players are final once settled. Ownership of a card is recorded by us and enforced: a card you trade away is no longer yours, even if a copy remains on your device.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
- Prices may change. A price change never affects a purchase already made.
6. Advertising
If you buy ad credit and run a campaign, your ad is reviewed before it runs and may be declined for any reason, with the budget returned as credit. You are responsible for what your ad says and where it links. Ads may not link to anything that would break section 3.
7. Ending an account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why. Virtual items in a suspended or deleted account are not refundable.
8. The service is provided as-is
We work hard to keep AetherForge running and your collection safe, and we keep backups. Even so, this is a small independent game: it is provided without warranty, and we are not liable for lost cards, lost gems, downtime, or anything else beyond what you paid us in the previous twelve months, to the extent the law allows.
9. Changes and law
If these terms change in a way that matters, players with accounts will be told by email first. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which AetherForge is operated.
